Noreen is an abstract painter based in Knoxville, TN.

Her work explores the tension between light and darkness, chaos and calm, and good and evil. She believes that God Himself is using her hands and describes her work as an invitation. An invitation to pause and consider the eternal. Painting in acrylic and oil and cold wax, Noreen employs color, texture, line, collage, and other techniques to tell the story.

Currently living with the Smoky Mountains in view, Noreen also lived many years in Maine and grew up near Lake Michigan. She is influenced by the movement of the ‘big water, rocky cliffs, the contours of the mountains and the breath of God.

Believing that her call to paint is from the Lord, she finds inspiration from the natural and built environment, from human struggles and joys, and from exploring the intersections, relationships and interactions between the physical and the spiritual realms.
